Reproductions

At brushwiz.com we want you to have the simplest buying experience possible. We understand that you might have a few questions, so to help you feel better informed, we've put together some of the most commonly asked questions about our paintings. If your questions have not been answered here, please contact us for more information.

What is a painting reproduction?

Painting reproductions are handmade replicas of original paintings. Reproductions give you the unique opportunity to own some of the world’s greatest paintings without spending millions of dollars or buying cheap prints.

Will the reproduction look exactly like the original?

Since our reproductions are handmade, there will always be some slight differences between the original work and the reproduction. Our highly-trained artists study each painting thoroughly, using similar brushstrokes and techniques that were used to create the original. As such, we endeavor to faithfully replicate the original as closely as possible.

Are the paintings really hand-painted?

We only sell handmade oil paintings, hand-painted by experienced artists. Each painting is made using oil paint on canvas, and each stroke, texture and nuance is created by hand. We do not use printing, pressing or any technological tricks to create our paintings. Please see some examples of our work here.

Do you sell prints?

No, all of our artworks are handcrafted beginning with a blank canvas. Our expert artists paint in the same manner as Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Monet and other famous masters. They begin with a sketch, add the details, fill in the colors and then add highlights and textures. As a result, you get a brilliant piece of art.

We do not resort to digital methods and printing techniques to produce paintings. Our paintings are always hand-made in our own studio by a skilled group of artists who follow stringent quality standards and the intricate procedures required to create a masterpiece.

What is the difference between prints and paintings?

The prints that you see on websites and in stores are essentially printed images of original paintings. By contrast, our world-class painters reproduce each painting by hand, employing only the finest paints and materials to recreate the beauty and quality in a similar way to the original painters of centuries gone by.

Will the painting I receive match the images on your website?

The majority of the images on our website are of the original works, rather than the reproductions. We will always email you a photo of your painting reproduction for your approval before shipping. Please bear in mind that there will always be some slight variations between the original and the reproduction. If you are not satisfied with your reproduction, you may return it within 90 days of purchase.

Why would I buy a reproduction?

Reproductions of masterpieces are much more affordable and accessible than the original works of art, many of which are stored in museums and galleries and are incredibly expensive. Buying a reproduction allows you to have a work of art in your own home or work space, and add some sophistication and beauty to your life.

What kind of paintings can I order?

We are constantly working towards providing art lovers with a robust selection of artworks, ranging from the classics of Leonardo da Vinci to the highly acclaimed works of Vincent van Gogh, including customized paintings, on commission. We offer everything to suit your needs and preferences. We also provide cost-effective framing and mounting services to complement and preserve your painting.

Where do you produce your paintings?

All of the paintings are made in our own studio, which is perfectly-suited to foster the creativity of our gifted artists, who produce and reproduce masterpieces daily. Since all of the paintings begin with a blank canvas, and are made by hand, the process can be pretty intricate. As such, the outcome is a genuine masterpiece, produced for the most passionate customers who cherish fine art.

How good are your artists?

All of our artists have been carefully selected by us and are the crème de la crème of the industry. Each painter is highly talented, committed to their work, specializes in a particular genre and has extensive experience in making reproductions of paintings for that genre. For instance, some are experts in reproducing photographs, while others may specialize in impressionistic paintings or portraiture. When asked to recreate a particular painting, we appoint the painter that best suits your project.

We want you to make your purchases confidently, knowing full well that you will receive an exceptional artwork, completely hand-painted by a gifted artist!

What quality should I expect to receive?

Since we only hire professional artists, customers can expect museum-quality reproductions. You will receive a high-resolution preview of your painting before shipment, so you can rest assured that your artwork will be of the highest quality. Please see our reproduction samples for a better idea of the quality you can expect.

Will I be able to preview the finished painting?

Absolutely. You will receive an email once the painting is ready for you to review along with a link to the order page, where you will be able to see a photo of the completed work. If you are not satisfied with some parts of the painting, please contact us with your suggestions for improvement, and we will rectify it until the painting meets your approval. Once approved, the painting will be shipped to you.

How long will it take to complete my painting?

Since all of our paintings are hand-painted and custom-made, the time taken to complete the painting will vary. Typically, it will take 14 to 21 days to complete before we can ship the painting. This may be longer for larger, more complex works, or those with very thick texture. An expected completion period will be mentioned on the product description page, during checkout and in your email confirmation.

What is the average drying time?

It’s crucial to allow paintings to dry before shipment. This can take between 2 to 5 days depending on the painting and the environment. Once fully dry, we will package and ship the painting.

Why was my order shipped before I approved it?

According to our policy, we will send you an email confirmation with a link to preview the artwork once it is finished. If we do not hear from you, we will send up to three email reminders. If after 10 days we do not receive a response from you, we will ship the order to you.

Will I be able to see the brushstrokes and over details?

Yes, since each painting is handmade, you will be able to see individual brustrokes and other small details, though it will depend on the particular style of the painting. Bruststrokes and other details will depend on whether it’s a classical painting or an impressionistic painting, for example. Please see some of our samples for more information.

Can I request to paint the sides of the artwork?

Of course, please contact us to let us know that you would like the sides painted.

How accurate are the item dimensions?

Item dimensions for artworks that are provided on our site are highly accurate, though they can vary slightly up to 0.5 inch.

Will you copy the original artist’s signature?

If the signature is depicted in the original artwork, we will copy it to give the painting an authentic feel. You can also choose to have the signature of the artist who worked on the reproduction, or without a signature. Just let us know which you prefer.

How much does a painting cost?

Costs vary depending on the size, style, complexity and the number of subjects in the painting. The painting cost is always mentioned on the product page.

Which sizes can I order?

Since our paintings are custom-made, we offer the standard sizes that you will see displayed on the product page, as well as a custom-size tool where you can select the size you would like.

Can I order a custom size?

Of course. We are happy to meet your requirements when it comes to size (within limits). Standard sizes are shown on the product page, but other sizes can be selected using the ‘Custom Size’ generator tool.

Can I order in non-standard sizes?

Sure, you can request any size you like (within reason). We recommend a size that matches the height/width ratio of the original painting. We can also crop a painting to focus on what is referred to as “detail painting,” which means a part of an original painting (such as the hands touching from Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam).

Which canvas size should I choose?

Before choosing a canvas size, we recommend measuring the space where you intend to place the painting. For smaller canvases that would be suited to locations such as a hallway or kitchen, we recommend starting with 18” x 24”. For a dining room, we’d recommend 24” x 36” while for a canvas that will be placed above a queen-sized bed or a couch, for example, we recommend 36” x 54”.

What if I’m not satisfied with my painting?

If for whatever reason you are unsatisfied with your painting, please let us know if there are any alterations we can make to rectify it. Typically, paintings undergo stringent quality control checks and customers can approve of the preview before it is sent out. We are happy to make any alterations, however, and will send you a photo of the revised work for your approval before sending it back to you.

If after receiving the revised painting you are still not satisfied, please return it to us within 90 days to receive a free replacement or a full refund. There are no hidden terms or conditions in our 90 day returns policy.

*Please note, we have a standard returns policy, but it is not applicable to all items. To learn about the exceptions and the return process for these particular products, please see our Returns Exceptions list.

How long does it take for modifications to be made to my painting?

Modifications can take between 1 to 7 days, depending on the work involved. We like to take our time to ensure that the modifications are carried out to a high standard. Once the modifications have been made, you will receive an email confirmation, including a link to images of the revised work. Once approved by you, we will send you the modified painting.

Do you charge extra for modifications?

Nope. We offer unlimited improvements until the painting meets your approval, free of charge.

Do you offer any guarantees?

We are committed to excellence in delivering personalized, quality art to all of our clients. Here's what our basic guarantee includes:

What is “My Rooms?”
